ACTION COALITION
Promoting Healthy Choices & Preventing Youth Substance Use in Burrillville
The Coalition
The Burrillville Prevention Action Coalition (BPAC) is a volunteer task force comprised of individuals who are interested in preventing and reducing substance use in the Town of Burrillville.
The BPAC is led by the Town of Burrillville's Substance Use Prevention Coordinator, Monica Blanchette. The BPAC is also a Drug-Free Community Coalition and a graduate of the Community Anti-Drug Coalitions of America's National Coalition Academy.
The BPAC Youth
The BPAC also has a youth coalition who assist in identifying town prevention needs, initiative planning, and community engagement. This group meets weekly on Sundays throughout the school year.

Recent Events and Activities
BPAC student leaders traveled to the Community Anti-Drug Coalitions of America (CADCA) 23rd Annual Mid-Year Training Institute (MYTI) from July 14-18, 2024 in Chicago, IL.
The students participated in the National Youth Leadership Initiative Key Essentials training activities at the conference. The skills they learn helped to prepare them to be a cohesive set of leaders for our youth coalition.
Held in a different city each summer, the MYTI "offers in-depth, interactive training sessions geared specifically for community coalition leaders and staff," according to the conference's website.
